90. Teach Sama how to macro
Thursday, November 26, 2009 @ 12:18 PM
Before Sama's birthday party, Michelle pressed this weird flower icon on her camera and started taking pictures from a very very close distance. Sama was curious about this and then later Michelle taught her what it was about. The objects were being "macroed" created cool effects and textures. Sama will use this skill to finish the goal of creating 100 deviations!

32. Play truth or dare
Tuesday, November 24, 2009 @ 8:26 PM

During Sama's birthday party we also
played truth or dare.
We didn't want to play the normal way. So we used balloons. We got everyone to write down one truth question and one dare, and put each into a balloon. We shuffled them and gave back balloons. It was fun because no one knew who wrote what.

We had been wearing our contact lenses for so long that people didn't realize we relied on strong prescriptions to see.
Sama's doctor forced her into wearing glasses for a couple of weeks, so Michelle decided to cheer her up.
We wore our glasses to school.

89. Receive a coveted Google Wave invite
Monday, November 23, 2009 @ 5:59 PM

Google has recently introduced Google Wave. This is supposed to be a huge new thing, that would take over sites like Facebook.
However, the catch is that this amazing thing will be released to the public next year, and for now only very few people can get the invites. "Google wave" has been a trending topic on Twitter for ages now, with people everywhere trying to get in. Still, after many weeks, "Google Wave" is still on the list of trending topics.
Sama had been trying to get an invite for a month or two. Finally, in economics class, Karim was talking about Google Wave and Sama asked him for one and
she got one! Sama cannot currently invite people to Google Wave, but apparently the invitations should come soon. Then, she invited Michelle and
they waved together.

Thursday, November 19, 2009 @ 8:29 PM
We were having a birthday party for Sama. And balloons just make everything more festive. So we put up not just 11, but
38 balloons.
There were lots of pretty colors. The metallic ones were the best!
We had lots of balloons pop in our faces...

76. Sama turns sweet 16
Saturday, November 14, 2009 @ 3:24 PM
Sama turned sixteen today! We were at school, so our options for fun were limited...
Aslı baked a delicious chocolate chip cake and Taya covered it in Munchkin donuts.
Michelle put a sign for her locker. She made a cake pop-out card, which Sama says is "the coolest card I've ever seen." As a present she gave her "the prettiest necklace ever."
Since Sama deserves an even more memorable birthday, she's having a get-together on Thursday. Fun fun fun :)
Today, and today only, we will sing a Hilary Duff song.
Sweet sixteen
Gonna spread my wings
Sweet sixteen
It's my chance to shine
Sweet sixteen
Discovering
Sweet sixteen
So much more in life
Sweet Sixteen

we wrote love on our arms to support those people trying to recover from depression. And when people asked, we told them about the TWLOHA organization and their cause.
We are just two of the people who stand up to
make love the movement ♥

80. Participate in a food eating contest
Thursday, November 12, 2009 @ 8:36 PM
On November 11 we took part
in a food eating contest at school.
We didn't originally intend to, but at the last minute they needed two more people. So guess who go dragged into it?
Us.
The Student Council's daily bulletin described the chocolate cake we were going to eat as:
It will be one a of a kind cake: double layered with inches of frosting and mountains of yummy sprinkles!During lunch we walked onto the covered courts to check out this cake. It was even bigger than we had thought, and had tons of Oreo chunks. Uh oh.
We lined up along with two other juniors to start the eating relay. Sama devoured the second slice and Michelle had the third.
It turns out the cake wasn't as appetizing as it appeared.
There's a good reason why there are no pictures.

31. Go to the ASEAN festival
Wednesday, November 4, 2009 @ 9:22 PM
On October 29, the annual ASEAN Festival was held. This year is was at the Indonesian Embassy.
So Michelle went there with her brother and a bunch of our friends. Sama was stuck at home babysitting that night.
It was a night of handmade crafts, batik scarves, cute stickers, delicious sushi, fresh duck, warm pho, and traditional dances.

We're juniors and need to start thinking about what we're going to put on our college applications.
Being the president of a club is always a good thing.
Sama is now the
president of TWAC, Technology With a Cause. It's the school's "go green" group. They recycle, raise climate change awareness, and sponsor Earth Hour.
Michelle is the
president of The Palette, the art club. It works on campus improvement through art. They are currently working on sets for the fall production and canvases for the Blue Mile.
